Lucy has always enjoyed Christmas and this is Sammy and Steely's first Christmas. The tree barely survived our two kitten household.

The Boys
Since Sammy joined our family, "Those Boys" as Christine calls them, have been a hoot. They play hard and sleep harder. They're inseparable and Lucy appreciates the break from Steely.

Sammy
Less than a week after adopting Steely, I saw a tiny kitten on our kitchen door porch. His eyes were barely open, he had a wound on his side and he wouldn't let Christine or I anywhere near him. He managed to find his way to a hiding spot under the breezeway between our house and the garage and after several weeks of working at it, we finally caught him and got him to the vet at Safe Haven. Now he's one of the luckiest cats in the world and Steely's best toy.

Steely
Several months after the loss of Max, I decided to find a new companion. I discovered Steely at Safe Haven for Cats, a local shelter. I had gone there thinking about an orange tabby, but Steely yowled every time I passed his cage—so much that the Safe Haven volunteer made mention of it.

Lucy’s First Day Home
Lucy was the runt of the litter... a litter that was dumped in a cardboard box at the end of one of Christine's co-worker's driveway. She was only days old and kept crawling over to Christine no matter where Christine went. She weighed only 6 1/2 ounces when she came home.

Yeah. Cat pictures.
I know… we’re crazy cat people. I’m okay with that. Besides, they’re really cute. Especially the kitten pictures.
