More is Rarely Better

Daring Fireball has linked to a screenshot of Micro$ofts’ Office 2010. It’s a hideous confusing mess of a UI that defies description. Check out the icons in the upper left hand corner… first, can you believe M$ is still using a floppy disk icon as the shortcut to “save?” And what’s with four different types of arrows up there?

More is rarely better folks. Take a look at this interface and ask yourself if you can imagine trying to get something done with it.

Microsoft’s chief baboon, speaking at a conference earlier today, has announced that the tide has turned for Apple. According to his simian-ship, macs are just PC’s with a fruity logo that cost $500 dollars extra.

Of course he also said that the Google isn’t a real company, the iPhone would fail and that linux is a cancer.

The tide has turned.
